The Climate Justice Project was a partnership between Got Green and Puget Sound Sage that surveyed 150 people and 30 organizations from South Seattle/King County on what climate change meant to them and what they’d like us to focus on. This event is a celebration and a report release of our findings and next steps.

Between 2009 and 2016, nearly 500,000 Volkswagen cars polluted more than they were supposed to. Volkswagen intentionally developed computer programs for their diesel cars that allowed them to cheat federal tests for pollution. These federal rules protect the air we breathe.  In October 2016, the courts published a consent decree (settlement agreement) from the lawsuit. VW will play $14.7 billion total to help lessen the harm of the cheating vehicles. Washington state will receive approximately $103 million to mitigate the…
