Today Rebecca Saldaña, Executive Director of Puget Sound Sage, presented the Alliance for Jobs and Clean Energy’s plan to develop a statewide initiative at the Communities of Color for Climate Justice Summit. Saldaña is on the Alliance Steering Committee.
The Summit was the first statewide, multi-racial gathering on climate justice bringing together over 100 organization
leaders serving low income communities and people of color. Most of the more than 50 organizations that make-up Communities of Color for Climate Justice, the coalition that presented the Summit, are also supporters and Steering Committee members of the Alliance.
The Alliance is the key policy vehicle that has formed to move the state from pollution to prosperity. The Alliance mission includes a focus on equity and investments of communities on the frontlines of climate change.
